Good Friday, April 2, 2021
The Outdoor Way of the Cross is an ecumenical prayer event marking the suffering and death of Jesus. It is a time to notice how the gospel values of Jesus apply to individual and public life today. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year’s walk will be presented virtually, in video format. the video will premier at 10:00 on Good Friday here.
You can view the 2020 Way of the Cross video here.
The annual Edmonton Outdoor Way of the Cross invites people to think about the relevance and importance of the Gospel message in our world today. Join us next year!
For 40 years, people of all abilities and backgrounds have been gathering on Good Friday in Edmonton’s inner city to reflect together on the call to love our neighbour.
The Outdoor Way of the Cross is organized by a group of volunteers from different Christian affiliations who share a concern that Good Friday calls us to care for our neighbours and the world around us.
A tribute to Sr. Marion Garneau
Sr. Marion was one of the most dedicated of the volunteers with the Outdoor Way of the Cross for many years. Bob McKeon wrote this story about her for the Boyle-McCauley News, the community paper in the area of Edmonton where much of the Walk takes place: https://bmcnews.org/story/sr-marion-garneau-remembered-as-a-champion-of-social-justice
